New Office Block Refurbishment

In July 2022 AMS undertook the project of refurbishing the old Sea Ray Boats office building that we purchased in 2001. The office block was built in the mid-1980s, designed by Green McCarthy Stansfield, and built by Rohcon (now Bam) this building was badly in need of upgrading; the structure was in a great condition, but the façade and interior needed some serious attention, as this was the last untouched part of the Sea Ray boats building purchase and at this stage 37 years old.
AMS would like to thank the main contractors MMD Construction (Cork) Ltd for the efforts put into this upgrade and a special shout out to Turlough Clancy and Tara Marie Nolan of Henry J Lyons Architects for their creativity in designing what we feel is a beautiful façade, fantastic interior and for finding so much space inside the building that we never knew existed.
Sub-contractors 20/20 glazing need to be singled out for the installation and have done an excellent job not only with the curtain wall, but the fascia, soffits, extruded castellated cladding and all the sheet metal work to the main entrance. Mostly everything used on the building in the form of extrusion is anodised, where we had very big sheet metal corner panels inside and out, we used anodic powders and it just goes to show that there is room for both on a building, even side by side.

We are hoping this one will last a lot longer than the original, but at least the structure has lasted the test of time and will be here for many, many years to come.
